Zipflo Reinhardt Band
Zipflo Reinhardt is an excellent jazz musician whose ancestor Django Reinhardt once brought jazz to Europe. Now he himself is known far beyond his native region, is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding jazz violinists of our time, and has performed with many musical greats, including Tony Scott, Pony Poindexter, Tony Inzalaco, Jimmy Woode Keith Copeland, Biréli Lagrène, Billy Brooks, Emil Mangelsdorff, Tony Lakatos and Alvin Queen.
In recent years Reinhardt has been performing mainly with his fusion jazz formation “The Zipflo Reinhardt Band”, with Andy Herrmann (keyboards), German Klaiber (bass) and Matthias Daneck (drums), playing fusion jazz at the very highest level.
Those familiar with Zipflo Reinhardt’s musical palette know that it is not his business to dwell nostalgically in musical patterns of bygone times, for Zipflo Reinhardt has taken inspiration from various contemporary jazz heavyweights to ultimately find his very own musical form, both in stylistic orientation and in his unmistakably individual interpretive style. Here, the various stylistic elements merge into a new captivating musical expression or well-known jazz standards are presented in new musical garments. Reinhardt’s soulful ballads are just as convincing as his sometimes eruptive solos, which testify to Reinhardt’s extraordinary playing skills. At the same time, Zipflo Reinhardt always makes sure that his music remains thematically clearly structured. His unique sound on the electrically amplified acoustic violin is unmistakable.
